  • When recommending a product, it should fall within common use cases. For example, if you sell affordable SD cards geared towards customers purchasing their first entry level smartphone, recommending expensive cases or covers for cell phones would probably not lead to more sales, and may end up causing confusion for your customers.
  • A good technique is to display recommendations that are priced less than your users’ selected products, that is, recommendations that do not increase the cost or value by too much. For example, your customer is unlikely to purchase recommendations if he or she is purchasing something for $30, and you recommend related products that cost close to $100. This also makes it look like you’re doing it wrong because your pushing sales too much. Be careful, this can lead to a bad customer experience.

When designing your marketing strategy, think about what customers would most likely buy. This may seem like a daunting task, but hey, it can yield to huge or positive results. It also allows you to create widgets that you can use on your other websites, including a WordPress blog. You can easily design the widget in the Linkcious dashboard with a number of layout options like a list, tile, grid, and dynamic layout.
