Why you need this:

These days, lots of users read their emails through their smartphones and if you want to provide a good user experience to your subscribers you should consider responsive email design. And this is where Foundation For Emails 2 comes in handy.

The idea behind it.

They develop this service to enable us to ‘quickly create responsive HTML emails that work on any device & client. even Outlook which is not supported in their previous release, when this service is still called Ink.

What Bob likes

Bob likes its grid system, which helped him structure his content and develop his own email templates.

What it doesn’t have or doesn’t do

Bob wants an option to compile and inline entirely in the browser, so he could copy/paste the source code into Litmus.

Bob Mini Review

Bob did try out Foundation For Emails 2 and their inliner tool because it is an interesting approach to email design. He was very impressed with it. Building the email initially was great. However, he found that the complexity of the framework added too much complexity to the debugging process. That is not a complaint about this cool service as per se, just so Bob is being clear, that is more about his workflow and coding style. He likes the concept of its frameworks but he rarely uses them in the wild.

Bob also wants to add that he continued to go back to Foundation For Emails 2 throughout the initial build to study their HTML and styles for ideas about how to build his own email. So even though he didn’t end up using it, it was still very useful and quite informative.
