Forest App – Stay focused, stop procrastinating.
What it does:
Forest is an app that will help you put down your phone and focus on your important tasks.
Why you need this:
It helps you focus on your work, or a lot time for some important matters rather than procrastinate using your mobile phone. It works well and is sort of like an anti-Farmville game. The more you don’t use it, the more trees you grow – each of which represents a 30 minute period that you stayed focus.
The idea behind it.
Your phone is considered as a distraction. If you have a hard time resisting the impulse to check your phone’s notifications, Forest App helps balance out that impulse via its gamified virtual garden.
What Bob likes
The app has a very simple basic premise and it works well. It’s a fun way to stay to focus on what matters, not your phone.
What it doesn’t have or doesn’t do
In-app purchases! Bob would be happy to spend on different kind of trees, cute animals, or background.
Bob Mini Review
Bob has always been a supporter of planting more trees, so he was excited to see that option when he looked through this app for the first time. Although since that was only a few hours ago, and it says that planting a real-life tree is limited-time-only, he’s a bit worried he won’t have enough to “buy” that option before it goes away.
Bob has this app and have been using it for a few months now. It works well, and he likes it more than the Pomodoro apps in which you get Pomodoro after focusing for a specific amount of time. Forest App allows you to see your landscape and how much you’ve accomplished ever since you downloaded and used the app and once you get enough points you can plant real life trees in another country. It’s quite cool and motivating.
Forest App has a very simple basic premise: upon starting the app, you can’t use your phone for 30 minutes. During that time, a little tree will grow. It will stay healthy and thrive as long as you don’t pick up and use your phone. However, as soon as you close the app to check your messages, emails, or browse Facebook, the tree will die. Over the course of the day, you can grow as many trees as you want, each of which represents a 30 minute period that you stayed focus. By the end of the day, you have a forest full of productivity. For Bob, that’s a rewarding factor that may help motivate you enough to stay on task.
In a nutshell, this app is made so you can spend time with your friends, not your phone or focus on what matters most.
